It was a good run, but Smithville unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 52-37 bruising from the Norwayne Bobcats. The match marked the Smithies' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Norwayne got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden West out in front who went 5 of 12 on his way to 16 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Parker Metsker, who posted ten points and six assists.

Smithville's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 11-2. As for Norwayne, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Smithville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-58 victory against Minerva on the 18th. Norwayne has also already played their next matchup, a 54-51 defeat against Perry on the 18th.
