Basketball Recap: Sumrall Comes Up Short

Sumrall lost against Forrest County Agricultural back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Sumrall Bobcats took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Forrest County Agricultural Aggies. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Aggies are ranked 72nd).

Sumrall has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Sumrall will be playing in front of their home fans against North Forrest at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Sumrall is facing North Forrest at the right time seeing as North Forrest is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Forrest County Agricultural, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-32 victory against Poplarville on the 18th.
