Preview: Osborne Bulldogs vs. Lakeside Knights
Osborne is 9-1 against Lakeside since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Osborne Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Lakeside Knights at 7:30 p.m. The timing is sure in Osborne's favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home while Lakeside has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Last Saturday, Osborne didn't have too much trouble with Sylvan-Lucas at home as they won 58-39. Given Osborne's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Sylvan-Lucas is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
After soaring to a 30-point victory in their last game, Lakeside came back down to earth on Tuesday. They fell just short of Lincoln by a score of 53-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Lakeside has suffered yet this season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Reece Remus, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jorden Schoen, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Osborne's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Lakeside, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.
Osborne strolled past Lakeside in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 68-50. Does Osborne have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lakeside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
