Recap: Jones Fightin' Tigers vs. Edgewater Eagles
With a playoff game on the line, the Jones Fightin' Tigers rose to the challenge on Friday. They snuck past the Eagles with a 28-24 victory. The victory was nothing new for Jones as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Trever Jackson looked great while leading his team to the win, rushing for 102 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 22 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Edgewater still got an impressive performance from Sir Semaj Fleming, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Fleming was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards.
Jones pushed their record up to 9-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.3 points per game. As for Edgewater, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-1.
Jones is on the road again on Friday and play against Tampa Bay Tech at 7:30 p.m. on November 24th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Tampa Bay Tech is ranked 35th, while Jones is ranked 14th). Edgewater does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
