Recap: Grenada Chargers vs. Olive Branch Conquistadors
The Grenada Chargers's game on Thursday was all tied up 38-38 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They lost to Olive Branch at home by a decisive 84-65 margin. While losing is never fun, Grenada can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Olive Branch is ranked seventh).
Despite the loss, Grenada still got an impressive performance from Caleb Howard, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kelton Jones, who scored 11 points along with four steals.
Grenada now has a losing record at 13-14. As for Olive Branch, they pushed their record up to 25-5 with that win, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Grenada won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lake Cormorant at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Lake Cormorant has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Olive Branch does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
