Softball Recap: Hiawatha Comes Up Short

Hiawatha lost against Jefferson West on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Red Hawks lost 14-8 to the Tigers. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Michaela Williams made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those runs were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Quinn Boye, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Hiawatha's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Jefferson West, the win keeps they at an undefeated 4-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Hiawatha will square off against rival Riley County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jefferson West is set to challenge their familiar foe St. Marys at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
