Softball Recap: McKinney Lions vs. Rock Hill Blue Hawks

McKinney had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-26-1 to make it seven. They lost 14-4 to the Rock Hill Blue Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-6 back in March.

McKinney saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adyson Gaddis, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

As for Rock Hill, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-14. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games.

On Rock Hill's side, Madilynn Grossman made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Grossman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Rock Hill let Madelyn Kerrigan and Aliyana Sanchez run wild. Kerrigan went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Sanchez went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Sanchez is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Mackenzie Ayyob also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

As of now, neither McKinney nor Rock Hill have any future games scheduled.
