Baseball Recap: Beech Grove Comes Up Short at Home Against Southport

Beech Grove unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Southport Cardinals on Thursday, falling 12-1. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Beech Grove got a good showing from Adam Yeary, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Beech Grove wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-0 loss against Triton Central on the 8th. As for Southport, they have also already played their next contest, a 14-2 defeat against Roncalli on the 9th.
