Basketball Recap: The Covenant Preparatory School Knights vs. Founders Christian Falcons

It was a good run, but The Covenant Preparatory School Knights unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 80-76 hit to the loss column at the hands of Founders Christian. The Covenant Preparatory School has struggled against the Falcons recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why The Covenant Preparatory School lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jay Williams. Despite the final result, he scored 38 points along with three steals. That was a full 50% of The Covenant Preparatory School's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tye Leatherman, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals.

Founders Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cody Baker out in front who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Morales, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 assists.

The Covenant Preparatory School's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6. As for Founders Christian, they pushed their record up to 19-11 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road.
