Football Recap: Port Isabel Tarpons vs. King Brahmas
Port Isabel won the last time they faced King and things went their way on Thursday too. The Tarpons enjoyed a cozy 37-22 victory over the Brahmas. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tarpons.
Luis Ramos was his usual excellent self, picking up 76 receiving yards and two scores, while also rushing for 90 yards and one TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Port Isabel was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 157 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Despite the defeat, King had strong showings from Isaac Cason, who threw for 271 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per attempt, and Julio Pineda-Garcia, who picked up 120 receiving yards and one TD.
The win got Port Isabel back to even at 4-4. As for King, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
