Softball Recap: Belleville West Comes Up Short

Belleville West fell victim to Edwardsville and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 8-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 back in April.

Daijah Jackson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple. Sophia Rossi also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Belleville West dropped their record down to 10-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Edwardsville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season.

Belleville West will challenge Freeburg at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Midgets will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Maroons surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edwardsville, they will take on Alton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
