Softball Recap: Robinson Bulldogs vs. Stuart W. Cramer Storm

Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 9-6 to the Stuart W. Cramer Storm. Robinson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Stuart W. Cramer apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March.

Nichols Kendra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and five unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 15 Ks.

At the plate, Naziyah Jones made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Shane, who scored a run and stole three bases.

Even though they lost, Robinson didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with 15 strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've managed all season.

On Stuart W. Cramer's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Hadley Womack gave up four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Daniela Tejada was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and a triple. Madison Lee was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Robinson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Stuart W. Cramer, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Robinson will take on Concord at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stuart W. Cramer, they will head out on the road to face off against Huss at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Stuart W. Cramer is facing Huss at the right time seeing as Huss is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
