Softball Preview: Jones Trojans vs. Pamlico County Hurricanes
For the second straight game, Jones will face off against Pamlico County. The Trojans will take on the Hurricanes at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Jones fell victim to Pamlico County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Hurricanes. The shutout was out of character for the Trojans seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.
For Pamlico County's part, Sarah Scott was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Scott has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning one run and three stolen bases.
In other batting news, Kylee Morris was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Peyton Robinson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
