Volleyball Recap: Kenzie Hooker Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Elkin + How To Watch

Surry Central won the last time they faced Elkin, and Stella Wall did her part to make sure it happened again. The Golden Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Buckin' Elks 3-2 with plenty of help from Wall, who had 38 digs and three aces. Wall is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Surry Central took Elkin into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, 19-25, 15-13.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Surry Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kenzie Hooker, who had 19 digs and one block. Those 19 digs gave Hooker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckindsey Lloyd, who had 12 digs and four aces.

Surry Central's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. As for Elkin, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Surry Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against East Surry on the 11th. As for Elkin, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against East Wilkes on the 11th.
