Game recap: Elk Grove moves past Laguna Creek with good fourth quarter

Elk Grove (Calif.) put up 28 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 52-7 victory over Laguna Creek (Elk Grove, Calif.).

The Thundering Herd were up 24-7 at the half after taking the lead on a field goal by Justin Singh in the first quarter.

Elk Grove put up 28 points in the fourth quarter en route to the win. EG scored on four rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including two by Wadus Parker.

The Thundering Herd's standout player in the win was Parker. The junior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.

Denzel Johnson made a difference for the Cardinals. The senior wide receiver caught one touchdown. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.

Laguna Creek's lone touchdown came on a 29-yard pass from Jack Walsh to Johnson in the first quarter.



Elk Grove went into the matchup giving up only 12.4 points per game. LC's seven points were well below its season average of 22.0 per game.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 61-12 win for EG.

In a non-conference game next week Elk Grove (6-0) takes on Grant, and Laguna Creek (2-4) will go up against Monterey Trail in a Delta Valley game.
