Basketball Game Preview: Brentwood Christian Bears vs. Brook Hill Guard

Brentwood Christian has won 11 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Brook Hill has won 11 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Brentwood Christian Bears will host the Brook Hill Guard at 6:30 p.m. Brentwood Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.9 points per game this season.

Last Friday, Brentwood Christian made easy work of Grace Community and carried off an 82-60 victory. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Cougars are ranked 518th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Marcus Zelee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. What's more, he also racked up six steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Blake Petty, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Brentwood Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Brook Hill was able to grind out a solid win over Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep on Tuesday, taking the game 50-37.

Brentwood Christian is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Brook Hill, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3.
