Basketball Recap: Patel Trailblazers vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs
On Monday, Patel was beaten by the Bulldogs 50-22. Patel was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-10.
Despite the loss, Patel saw an underclassman step up: BELLA SMITH scored eight points.
DeSoto County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keyara Montinat, who scored 18 points along with five steals. Montinat is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliyah Luther, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Patel has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for DeSoto County, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
