Soccer Game Preview: Gabrielino vs. Rosemead

The Gabrielino Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Rosemead Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Gabrielino managed to keep up with Mountain View until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Gabrielino lost 6-1 to Mountain View. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Meanwhile, Rosemead was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 4-2 to South El Monte. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 860th, while the Eagles are ranked 118th).

Gavin Raygoza wasn't going to let South El Monte walk away unscathed as he scored both of Rosemead's goals, bringing his season total up to two goals.

Gabrielino has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-4 record this season. As for Rosemead, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11-4.

Gabrielino took their win against Rosemead in their previous meeting on Monday by a conclusive 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gabrielino since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
