Basketball Recap: Amundsen Takes a Loss

Amundsen and King squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Amundsen had to settle for second. They fell just short of the King Jaguars by a score of 40-38. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jaguars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

King's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Kobe Wren, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Tyshaun McPherson, who put up eight points and 12 boards.

Amundsen dropped their record down to 14-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for King, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Coming up, Amundsen will venture away from home to square off against St. Patrick at 6:00 p.m. on February 19th. As for King, they will host Brooks at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brooks is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.
