Softball Recap: Neoga Find Success

Neoga made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], but they still couldn't quite topple them. Neoga put the hurt on Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] with a sharp 8-2 victory on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Hannah Propst was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.6 strikeouts per game. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Josalyn Brandenburg was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. She also put up three RBI, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Audrey Kepp, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Neoga's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Neoga will welcome Paris at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], they will host Oakwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
