Soccer Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Hibriten

Hibriten proved they can win big last Friday (they won by five) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Watauga Pioneers, sneaking past 2-1. That's more bragging rights for Hibriten, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Bella Hawkins and Raegan Watts scored both of Hibriten's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 18 goals.

The win was the third in a row for Hibriten, bringing their record up to 8-3-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Watauga, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hibriten will challenge Alexander Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Watauga, they will head out to take on Freedom at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Watauga will be up against Freedom's rather soft defense (which has allowed 2.92 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
