Western Branch posted their closest win since October 22, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the J.R. Tucker Tigers, sneaking past 3-2. The victory was nothing new for the Bruins as they're now sitting on five straight.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Western Branch got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 23-25, 26-24, 22-25, 15-10.

Western Branch's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for J.R. Tucker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Western Branch will be taking part in a tournament against Freeman at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for J.R. Tucker, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Gloucester at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
