Basketball Recap: Dayton Comes Up Short

Dayton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds 56-29. The Greendevils were not able to make up for their loss to the Thoroughbreds from their previous meeting back in January of 2022.

Dayton's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Newport Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 15-13.

Dayton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 70-39 victory against Newport on the 14th. As for Newport Central Catholic, they will take on Grant County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
