Basketball Recap: Mountainside Takes a Loss

If Mountainside was feeling good fresh off their 58-34 takedown of Westview last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountainside Mavericks took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jesuit Crusaders on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost nine in a row.

Mountainside's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Jesuit, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.

Mountainside and Jesuit should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings. Mountainside will challenge Sunset at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 162 places (25 vs. 187). Meanwhile, Jesuit (ranked 38th) will meet Westview (ranked 194th) at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st.
