Basketball Game Preview: Central Christian Cougars vs. South Barber Chieftains

The Central Christian Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the South Barber Chieftains at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Central Christian has seven straight victories, South Barber has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a proper cat-fight when Central Christian duked it out with Cunningham on Tuesday. Central Christian simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cunningham 54-25. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, South Barber came up short against Stafford on Friday and fell 47-36.

Central Christian's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.5 points over those games. As for South Barber, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8-2.

Everything came up roses for Central Christian against South Barber in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 54-23 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
