Baseball Recap: Cumberland County Jets vs. Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers
Cumberland County extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 8-13 in the process. They lost 8-0 to the Warren County Pioneers & Lady Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers & Lady Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-4 back in March.
As for Warren County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-15. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games.
For Warren County's part, Keaton Rowe looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Rowe posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since April 5th.
On the hitting side, Tyler Adams and Brady Norris did most of the damage at the plate: Adams went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while Norris went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Norris has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Gilispie, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Cumberland County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Warren County, they will venture away from home to face off against Spring Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
