Basketball Recap: Villa Madonna Comes Up Short

Villa Madonna was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 74-53 to the Ludlow Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 91-56 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Villa Madonna lost, don't look at Michael J. R. Popham. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Another player making a difference was Quinn Thomas, who posted nine points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Villa Madonna's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Ludlow, their win bumped their record up to 10-7.

Villa Madonna won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Williamstown at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Villa Madonna is facing Williamstown at the right time seeing as Williamstown is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Ludlow, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ludlow Panthers duke it out with the Bellevue Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
