Softball Recap: Lexington Comes Up Short

If Lexington was riding high fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Belmont on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Minutemen fell just short of the Arlington Spy Ponders by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Minutemen of the 13-7 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2025.

Lexington's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Arlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lexington will challenge rival Melrose at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Arlington is set to face off against their familiar foe Reading Memorial at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
