Baseball Recap: Jarrell Takes a Loss

Jarrell fell victim to Marble Falls and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 6-0. The Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it seven in a row.

Bryan Tibbetts was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one triple.

Jarrell's loss dropped their record down to 2-19. As for Marble Falls, they pushed their record up to 21-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

While Jarrell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
