Basketball Recap: Elder Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Elder had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Milford Eagles by a score of 53-44 on Tuesday. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Eagles are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milford's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Camron Arington, who posted 13 points. Thanks to that strong game, Arington now owns an excellent 40.2% three-point shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Brand, who put up ten points.

The win made it two in a row for Elder and bumps their season record up to 14-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Milford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-16.

As of now, neither Elder nor Milford have any future games scheduled.
