Baseball Recap: Brownwood Comes Up Short

Brownwood had lost eight straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 6-19 to make it nine. They lost 9-3 to the Glen Rose Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 7-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Brownwood saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daylyn Ansons, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. Another was Garrett Wilkerson, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Glen Rose, their win bumped their record up to 14-15-1. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 13th (when they won 9-3).

On Glen Rose's side, Tripp Jenkins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits. Jenkins has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Glen Rose got a massive performance out of Ethan McCune, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs McCune has posted since back in March. Easton Bailey was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

While Brownwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
