Soccer Game Preview: Tustin vs. Godinez Fundamental

The Tustin Tillers will take on the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tustin's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Tustin fell victim to Valencia and their airtight defense on Friday. They lost 3-0 to the Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Tillers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 906th, while the Tigers are ranked 19th).

Meanwhile, Godinez Fundamental also failed to score in their most recent game. They fell just short of Santa Ana by a score of 1-0 on Friday. Considering the last time the Grizzlies couldn't score was back in December of 2024, the team can't take the result too hard.

Godinez Fundamental's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3-4. As for Tustin, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14-1.

Tustin came up short against Godinez Fundamental in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 2-0. Can Tustin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
