Ben Barrus leads a balanced attack to beat Highland

Recap: Riverton Silverwolves vs. Highland Rams

The Riverton Silverwolves waltzed into their game Wednesday with five straight wins but they left with six. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 66-50 victory over Highland. The score was all tied up 28-28 at the break, but Riverton was the better team in the second half.

Riverton got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ben Barrus out in front who scored 17 points. The contest was Barrus' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Allred, who scored 13 points along with five assists.

Highland's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was George Mcconkie, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds. Isaiah Drisdom was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Riverton's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Highland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Riverton will finish 2023 at home by hosting Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Syracuse will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Riverton is ranked ninth). Highland is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Wasatch at 7:00 p.m. on December 27th. Wasatch is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
