Baseball Recap: Cypress Bay Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cypress Bay entered their tilt with Lakeland on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Dreadnaughts with a sharp 8-2 win. Considering the Lightning have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rhyss Rojas looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Keagan Pita was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Max Connell was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Cypress Bay's victory bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Lakeland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season.

Cypress Bay will be taking part in a tournament against East Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lightning's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Lakeland, they will challenge Flanagan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
