Volleyball Recap: Gateway Charter Takes a Loss

Gateway Charter lost against Evangelical Christian back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Griffins lost 3-0 to the Sentinels. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 25-12.

Evangelical Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mykalaih Busse led the charge by getting 15 digs and three assists. With that strong performance, Busse is now averaging an impressive 10.1 digs per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Holt, who had three digs and three aces.

Gateway Charter's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Evangelical Christian, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.

Looking ahead, Gateway Charter will welcome Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Evangelical Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against IMG Academy Black at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
