The Cheney RVT Beavers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took down Goodwin Tech 42-25. The victory was some much needed relief for Cheney RVT as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
Cheney RVT's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cristialis Carrasquillo, who scored 13 points along with five steals. Myaliz Lopez was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 13 rebounds and four steals.
Cheney RVT's win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-11. As for Goodwin Tech, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cheney RVT won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Vinal RVT at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. Vinal RVT comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Goodwin Tech won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Prince RVT at 5:15 p.m. on January 26th.
