Softball Recap: Chazy Eagles vs. Lake Placid Bombers

Chazy can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against the Lake Placid Bombers as the Chazy Eagles made off with a 17-5 victory. That's more bragging rights for Chazy, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Kennedy Columbus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Pender Bechard was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Sophie Barcomb was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Chazy pushed their record up to 9-5 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lake Placid, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Chazy will head out on the road to take on Crown Point at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crown Point will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Chazy surely won't give up without a fight. Lake Placid does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
