Baseball Recap: Central Catholic Finds Playoff Glory Versus Oakmont

With a playoff win on the line, Central Catholic rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They beat the Oakmont Vikings by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-1. The win was familiar territory for the Raiders, who have now won four games in a row.

Kayden McHenry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

At the plate, Chase Perino was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Kiesel, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Central Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 22-10. As for Oakmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 25-7.

Central Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair will be back at it again later today.
