Recap: Mohawk Mustangs vs. McKenzie Eagles

The Mohawk Mustangs were the 42-20 winner over the McKenzie Eagles when they last played one another on January 3rd, but their luck changed this time around. Mohawk took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of McKenzie on Tuesday.

McKenzie found their leader in underclassman Will Meister, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That's the first time this season that Meister scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Salomon Acevedo, who scored 13 points.

Mohawk has fallen quite a ways from their 18-8 record last season and are now at 3-14. As for McKenzie, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mohawk will take on Crow at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McKenzie won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mapleton at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Mapleton will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
