Softball Recap: Stayton's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Stayton dropped their record down to 14-7 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the Cascade Cougars by a score of 1-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Cascade, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Cascade's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Malia Scanlan, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Coming up, Stayton will take on Sweet Home at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cascade, they will challenge Newport at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cubs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.73 runs per game on average), something the Cougars will no doubt try to take advantage of.
