Baseball Recap: Northbridge Wins Going Away Against Prouty

Northbridge never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Prouty Panthers as they made off with a 19-0 win. The Rams have beaten the Panthers the last nine times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Panthers has come to flipping the script.

Sean Rochette looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, David Scichilone and Matt Coughlin did most of the damage at the plate: Scichilone went 2-for-3 with three runs and four RBI, while Coughlin went 2-for-3 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Bolduc, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Northbridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matches.

Northbridge's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Prouty, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northbridge will venture away from home to face off against Weston at 11:00 a.m. on the 25th. As for Prouty, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southbridge at 4:00 p.m. on the 28th.
