Softball Recap: St. Patrick Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, St. Patrick finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They came up short against the D'Iberville Warriors, falling 9-2. The Fighting Irish have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Elizabeth Colson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

St. Patrick's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for D'Iberville, the win got them back to even at 11-11.

Coming up, St. Patrick will take on Poplarville at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Fighting Irish's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for D'Iberville, they will square off against Columbia at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
