Baseball Game Preview: Severn School Admirals vs. St. Paul's Crusaders

The Severn School Admirals will head out to square off against the St. Paul's Crusaders at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Severn School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Severn School will bounce into Wednesday's contest after beating St. Mary's, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Admirals were the clear victors by a 13-6 margin over the Saints on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Admirals.

The team relied heavily on Fletcher Warner, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Dominic Medile was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Paul's fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Boys Latin on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 7-6. The Crusaders have struggled against the Lakers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Severn School's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for St. Paul's, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Severn School skirted past St. Paul's 2-0 in their previous meeting back in March. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Admirals since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
