Football Game Preview: Sulphur Golden Tors vs. Acadiana Rams

Sulphur hasn't had much luck against Acadiana recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Golden Tors will welcome the Rams at 7:00 p.m. Sulphur has given up an average of 34 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Sulphur is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Sam Houston on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Golden Tors came up short against the Broncos, falling 34-14. The Golden Tors were down 27-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Sulphur's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dalton Shirley, who threw for 170 yards and a pair of TDs, and Jordan Jardneaux, who picked up 58 receiving yards and two scores.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Acadiana). They breezed past New Iberia to the tune of 60-0 on Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Rams' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 184th).

Sulphur's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Acadiana, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
