Baseball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Marshall's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Tatum Eagles on Thursday. The Mavericks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2015.

This is the second loss in a row for Marshall and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Tatum, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Marshall and Tatum could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. Marshall (ranked 814th) will meet New Diana (ranked 79th) at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Marshall has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. Meanwhile, Tatum will take on Harleton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday down 137 places (229 vs. 92).
