Basketball Preview: Cross Roads Bobcats vs. Martins Mill Mustangs
Cross Roads is 0-7 against the Mustangs since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cross Roads Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Martins Mill Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Cross Roads has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while the Mustangs will arrive with seven straight victories.
Last Friday, Cross Roads came up short against the Wildcats and fell 44-34.
In what's become a running theme this season, Martins Mill gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 66-27 victory over Cayuga. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-6.
Martins Mill got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jak Kinder out in front who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Ryder Marsh was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Cross Roads has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Martins Mill, their victory was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 25-4.
Cross Roads took a serious blow against the Mustangs when the teams last played back in January, falling 79-35. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cross Roads was down 40-18.
