Softball Recap: Union Cougars vs. Morgan Trojans
Union extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 16-10 in the process. They lost 12-1 to the Morgan Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on April 11th.
Union saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payzlei Parrish, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
As for Morgan, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6. Considering they have won 11 matches by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
On Morgan's side, Callie Averett spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Joesi Kelly, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Kaiya Peterson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
As of now, neither Union nor Morgan have any future games scheduled.
