Lincolnton suffers seventh straight loss on the road

Recap: Lincolnton Wolves vs. Newton-Conover Red Devils

The Lincolnton Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 57-41 to Newton-Conover. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Lincolnton of the 55-37 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January.

Nyla Johnson and Daphca Dyson certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Johnson scored six points along with four steals, while Dyson scored nine points along with two steals. Johnson hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games.

Lincolnton's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Newton-Conover, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincolnton will take on the Trojans at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Newton-Conover, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. East Burke will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
