Basketball Recap: Chipley Comes Up Short

Chipley has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by the Holmes County Blue Devils and fell 69-25. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Blue Devils are ranked 28th).

Chipley's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Sarayah Hogan and Sadayah Hogan. Sarayah posted eight points, while Sadayah earned seven points.

It was another big night for Bri Adams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten steals for Holmes County. The dominant performance gave Adams a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Emma Whitkaer, who went 8 for 9 en route to 20 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Chipley's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Holmes County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Chipley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-16 victory against Bozeman on the 27th. As for Holmes County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-27 win against Blountstown on the 20th.
