Preview: Big Sandy Red Devils vs. Hughes Lions
The Big Sandy Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Hughes Lions at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Gleason scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Big Sandy still came out on top. Big Sandy took their contest against Gleason 71-61. With that victory, Big Sandy brought their scoring average up to 55.7 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Big Sandy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Seth Green, who scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Cagle, who scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 blocks.
Meanwhile, Hughes beat Adamsville 63-50 on Tuesday.
Big Sandy's win bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Hughes, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Everything went Big Sandy's way against Hughes when the teams last played back in December of 2021 as Big Sandy made off with a 66-43 victory. Does Big Sandy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hughes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
